the artemis brief

A new study at Queen’s University links a diet rich in flavonoids to lower blood pressure, in part due to an improved gut microbiome. After adjusting for BMI, family history of cardiovascular disease, physical activity and medication use, researchers found that participants with the highest intake of flavonoids had lower blood pressure and a greater diversity in their gut microbiome.
