Ecovitis® is produced in a state-of-the-art, environmentally responsible, food-grade facility within Distillerie Bonollo Umberto SpA. This gentle, patented water extraction/ultrafiltration process uses membrane technology to concentrate levels of oligomeric proanthocyanidins (Morazzoni et al., 2021). Eliminating the use of harsh chemical solvents (which can strip away synergistic compounds) results in a safe and highly efficacious matrix of grape seed bioactive compounds. Distillerie Bonollo Umberto SpA applies rigorous quality standards and testing protocol with a focus on safety, purity, potency, transparency, and efficacy. Ecovitis® has a unique bioactive profile–standardized to a high level of oligomeric proanthocyanidins while maintaining a low monomeric content. The guaranteed low level of monomers contributes to the safety of the product, as high levels of epicatechin and catechin monomers have been linked to potential detrimental health effects. In fact, the European Food Safety Authority recommends daily dosage limitations for these monomers (EFSA, 2018).
